    Architecture

Designed by acclaimed Australian architect Allan Powell and built by Probuild Constructions, TarraWarra Museum of Art sits at the apex of a hill, arcing gently from the earth in concert with the contours and hues of the surrounding landscape.

In 2004, Allan Powell was awarded the 2004 Victorian Premier’s Design Award for his design, with its sweeping, rammed-earth façade and voluminous spaces. The floor-to-ceiling picture windows in the northern galleries elegantly frame the Yarra Valley landscape beyond, inviting visitors to ‘see’ the landscape in a different way.
